Try New Healthy Recipes – A and H Wellness Challenge Week #8

Challenge (Week 8):  Try one new healthy recipe each day of the week, or one recipe you have not made in a long time. Baseline Goal: 5 of 7 Days.

  • Trying new recipes can help you stick to new healthy diets and getting outside your typical diet.
  • Discovering new flavors or methods to cook meals can help expand nutritional knowledge.
  • Experimenting with different foods can influence metabolic, mental, and physical function of the body.
  • Eating a variety of foods, including red meats, white meats, seafood, fruits, vegetables, and healthy carbs and fats each have health benefits that vary from one another. Having a diet that includes a wide variety of food types can keep the body function balanced in that you are supplying all parts of the body with adequate levels of the different types of nutrients.
  • This week you will be encouraged to avoid sugar, alcoholic beverages, refined foods, LDL foods (doughnuts, French fries, ice cream, etc.), and high levels of sodium.
