Random Act of Kindness – A and H Wellness Challenge Week #11

Challenge (Week 11):  Perform an act of kindness each day this week. Baseline Goal: 7 of 7 Days.

As we are all aware, the conditions in the world are less than ideal right now. No matter the scale, an act of kindness can impact anyone, regardless of who they are. With that said, not only can doing something nice for someone have a positive effect on your mental/emotional well-being, it effects that of those around you as well. A little kindness can go a long way in the world…

Challenge Insights:

An act of random kindness should not be intended to be recognized by spectators or, in some cases, even those that stand to benefit from whatever act it may be.

The range of things that you can do for this week’s challenge is broad and can be interpreted in many ways. Consider the following ideas:

  • Give someone a compliment.
  • Volunteer your time to help somewhere.
  • Reaching out to a family member or an old friend just to check in on them and see how they are doing.
  • Offer help to someone that may be struggling or in need.
  • Pay for the individual behind you in a drive-thru.
  • Clean up trash in a public setting.
  • Holding the door open for individuals entering/exiting places.
  • Leave a generous tip to a waiter/waitress.
  • Give some treats to our public service workers.
  • Donate to a charitable cause/foundation.
  • Anonymously do a favor for a neighbor/co-worker.

You never know what someone may be going through, and even the smallest of gestures can have the most profound of an impact in their personal lives.
