A and H Insurance is partnering with United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra (UWNNS) to help build at-home libraries to encourage learning, curiosity, and a love for reading!
The single most significant factor influencing a child’s early educational success is an introduction to books and being read to at home before beginning school. However, not all children in our community have access to age-appropriate books at home. In middle-income neighborhoods, the ratio of books per child is 13:1 whereas, in low-income neighborhoods, the ratio is one age-appropriate book for every 300 children. The most successful way to improve the reading achievement of children living in poverty is to increase their access to books.
Give how works best for you! Donate new or gently used books at our Reno (3301 S. Virginia St Reno, NV 89502) office OR we can turn every $5 donation into a brand-new book for a child! Donate online, scan the QR code on the posters, or text “AHBOOKS” to “41444!” All gifts will stay in Northern Nevada.
Book Details: Gently used. No loose bindings, no stains, no coloring or drawing, no torn pages or missing pages.
